Crisfield, Maryland is known by some as “the crab capital of the world.” The Labor Day Weekend event is city-wide, so it’s mandatory to visit their website for a list of events. Somers Cove Marina is recognized as the center of activities, with many people sailing in and docking or mooring to attend the event. A boat docking competition also happens there. Events range from crab races to a beauty pageant to music and fireworks. There’s also a crab cooking contest with four categories, along with a 10k race and 5k walk.
