SUMMARY:Wharf Rat Rally
DESCRIPTION:This isn’t a food festival\, but an old-style biker rally. You can expect food trucks with the usual fried foods\, burgers and sausages\, funnel cakes\, and the like\, but this rally also takes place on the Fundy coast. The town of Digby has been harvesting the sea for centuries and they know how to make it. The local restaurants will be in full swing during the rally\, so fish n’ chips\, lobster rolls\, seared pollack\, mussels\, and local vegetables will all be on offer. \nUnderstand that this is a well established rally\, meaning 20\,000 people can descend on the town of 5\,000. Camping and hotels during the rally can be full for 100km\, so plan ahead\, and also plan only only staying for a portion of the rally. See the schedule for more details. Officially there is a morning buffet for rally goers and Friday night is Prime Rib Night\, but of course that’s only from the official schedule. \nThe heart of the rally is centered on riding\, bike shows\, stunt shows and competitions\, and live music\, so plan your day(s) around the action.

SUMMARY:HarvestFest 2026
DESCRIPTION:Date: August 21\, 2026 : 10am -5pm\nLocation: Elgin\, Arizona\, USA : Sonoita Vineyards 290 Elgin Canelo Rd\, Elgin\, AZ 85611\nWebsite: https://www.sonoitavineyards.com/event/harvestfest-2026-at-sonoita-vineyards/ \nThis is a harvest celebration and more than a dozen different wineries will be in attendance. Food trucks bring in the vibe\, along with just-for-fun activities like grape stomping. Of course wine tasting is the main activity. As of this writing\, only Las Vigas are signed up among food truck vendors\, but check the event page for updates. \nTickets are $10-$30 and available on Eventbrite; see the event website for a link. \nThe Elgin area is a little-known area of Arizona wine country just above the Coronado Mountains. Highway 83 provides a nice out-and-back drive to Parker Canyon lake\, which has camping and boat rental and hiking. Multiple wineries are in the immediate area as well\, and if you aren’t in the mood for wine\, search for The Meading Room on Arizona SR-82 and sample some mead\, one of the oldest beverages in recorded history (a sort of honey based beer/wine).

SUMMARY:Texas Crab Festival
DESCRIPTION:This multi-day festival on the Texas Coast (Crystal Beach) has many expected activities like crab races and a 5k/1k event along with tournaments for cornhole\, horseshoes\, and washers. There is also a wiener dog race and a 2-step contest and even a youth media contest for poster design and photography. \nThe important part though for us is the crab gumbo contest and an eating contest on Saturday featuring crab/boudin balls. The events page lists things out while the music page has the bands and set times (evenings for Thus-Fri\, all day for Sat).

SUMMARY:2026 Calf Fry Music Festival
DESCRIPTION:DATE: April 30 – May 2\, 2026\nLOCATION: Tumbleweed Dance Hall & Concert Arena ; 5212 W. Lakeview Rd.Stillwater\, OK 7407\nWEBSITE: https://www.visitstillwater.org/event/calf-fry-2026-3-day-music-festival/35227/ \nCalf fry is the old-timey term for a testicle festival. The tradition goes back over a century\, when ranchers would spend a long day castrating young livestock. And what the hell are you going to do with hundreds of gonads? Well yes\, dog food comes to mind\, but in the Great Depression you weren’t letting good protein go to waste. \nThe best bet for something that chewy is going to be deep frying\, because even an old boot becomes edible if you fry it long enough. Oklahoma is somehow the capital of calf fries\, and the red dirt style country music festival in Stillwater might be the biggest. Granted\, their website absolutely sucks\, but I linked to Stillwater’s own tourism website so you can at least start your journey coherently. \nWhat I can tell you is that it’s a rain or shine\, all ages event. Tickets are on sale. They show gate at 5-pm and event at 530-pm all three days. You’ll need a parking pass too\, or some RV spots are available (I see nothing about tent camping). There’s also a pass for unlimited rides between the main drag (Washington Street) and the venue. You’ll need to figure out your own needs. There is also no mention of the line-up\, but are you there for the music\, or the testicles?

SUMMARY:Oregon Cheese Festival
DESCRIPTION:In Central Point\, Oregon\, this April festival is centered around\, you guessed it\, cheese. Located at the Jackson County Fair Expo\, the 2026 event is scheduled for Saturday\, April 25th from Noon – 5pm (21 and over)\, and Sunday\, April 26th from 11am-4pm (all ages). The event website has all the information centered right on its homepage. Expect artisan foods to go along with cheeses made in Oregon and beyond. The Seven Feathers Event Center appears to be indoor and I see no information or photos about outdoor events or booths. \nThe event is a bit swanky compared to the usual food truck fandangos or trucker chic type of events RER usually gravitates towards\, but its at the fairgrounds and general admission on Sunday is only $15.00.

SUMMARY:EVENT: Knights of Columbus Fish Fry
DESCRIPTION:EVENT: Friday Fish Fry\nLOCATION: St. Patrick Catholic Church; 100 Quality Hill Road\, Bisbee\, AZ 85603\nDATES: Fridays Feb 20 – Mar 27 ; 11AM-6PM \nAn annual event during Lent\, many churches of the Catholic faith will serve fish on Fridays. Friday is normally the day of the Crucifixion of Christ\, and abstaining from meat on that day is a common practice. Fish gets a pass in this case because it’s cold-blooded; a different type of animal. \nSt Patrick’s Church in Bisbee is home to the oldest chapter of the Knight of Columbus in Arizona\, and I assume they will be the ones manning the fryers. The church building itself is at the front of the property and is hard to miss\, just above/next to the courthouse. The 1918-era building was placed on the registry of historic places in 1978 and is worth a look if you have time\, but the parish hall serving up the fish fry is a separate building behind the church\, accessed by a small diveway/walkway to the right. \nThere are plates to go or you can eat in the hall. Cost is $15. I would suggest cash for an event like this; no information is provided on acceptable payment forms on the church website. \nThis is a great way to run into neighbors and hear what’s going on in the community. This isn’t a religious service; it’s religious people being of service.  Best of all I found this event the old-fashioned way; a banner was hanging on a chain-link fence in the Warren neighborhood south of town. Ya can’t get more authentic that a church fish fry\, put on at the local parish hall.
